Frequently asked questions

Does Disk Tamer move files on my computer or upload them?
Files are moved locally via the browser's File System Access API. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
Can I move files to a folder outside the originally selected folder tree?
Yes. You can pick any accessible folder as the destination, including one outside the source tree.
What happens if a file with the same name already exists at the destination?
Disk Tamer warns you about conflicts before running. You can adjust your selection or destination to avoid overwrites.
Can I move files from multiple source folders at once?
You select one source root folder and apply rules within it. Moving from multiple separate source roots in one operation is not currently supported.
Is there an undo option?
There is no automatic undo. If you need to reverse a move, you can use the same tool to move the files back.
Can I move folders, or only files?
Currently Disk Tamer targets individual files. Folder-level moves are not yet supported.
Which browsers support Disk Tamer?
Chrome 86+, Edge 86+, and Opera 72+. The File System Access API is not available in Firefox or Safari.
